The 2009 Festival commenced with the inaugural Apple Festival Dance on Mayday, the evening of May 1st. It was well-attended and received overwhelming ‘thumbs way, way, up!’ despite the glacial conditions. Mountain Dew provided the music.
Sunday 3rd May dawned bright and sunny, and the population of Tallong quadrupled. Would you believe we had visitors from as far away as Western Australia and Queensland.
Our good friends Alby Schultz, Pru Goward and Paul Stephenson were on hand, as was Carol James, our Major, who opened the Festival.
The continued success of the ever-growing Tallong Apple Festival is due to the commitment of the fabulous Apple Day Committee and the enthusiastic participation of the Tallong community.
The 2010 Tallong Apple Festival will be held on the first Sunday in May i.e. the 2nd May 2010.
In order for another successful Tallong Apple Day Festival in 2010 we need some new talent on the organising committee. Committee meetings will generally be held once per month between now and May 2010. Please contact Geoff Clark if you would like to assist with organising this community event on 4841 0577, 0437 409 336 or at geoff_run@hotmail.com.
Should you wish to host a stall, please complete the Tallong Apple Day 2010 Stall Application Form.pdf and submit it to the address noted on the form. Stalls are limited to a total of 45 so please act fast in order not to miss out!
The Tallong Apple Day Festival is an initiative of the Tallong Community Focus Group. We encourage all stall holders to read and comply with the NSW Food Authority’s “Food Handling Guidelines For Temporary Events” publication which can be downloaded by clicking here.
